Part of a german-american heritage, her mother is an opera singer and her maternal grandfather a rocket scientist in Nüremberg. Sandra Bullock (45) is fluent in German and was voted in high school “The Girl Most Likely to Brighten up Your Day”.
After her breakthrough role in Speed she has done a number of rom-coms like While You Were Sleeping but won critical acclaim for her more serious role in Crash.
Last year she was one of the best grossing actors at the box office, with two films out: The Proposal, starring together with Ryan Reynolds, a huge hit taking more than $314 million worldwide and The Blind Side (which depicts the story of a homeless black youngster taken in by a white family who help him fulfill his athletic and academic potential).
Sandra is married to Monster Garage host Jesse James who claims to be the great-great-grandson of legendary wild west outlaw with the same name. In 2009 Sandra Bullock and James won full custody of the 5 year old daughter that James had with his ex-wife, former porn star Janine Lindemulder. Lindemulder, who has appeared in more than 100 adult films was in jail for tax evasion and has been known to make use of drugs. Lindemulder and her new husband, also a convicted felon were called unfit and lost the custody battle to Bullock and James.
